It started with having to work six days because of my direct supervisor’s vacation. Then, there were the callouts that left me in charge of the teller line. On Thursday, I came home to a little boy with red, swollen eyes and a snotty, swollen nose! I ended up having to take Friday morning off to get him to a doctor. My lucky boy has a severe pollen allergy!1 He’s been prescribed Claritin, Flonase, and Zytec. Poor little thing can’t even go outside.
And then there is Ivy. It’s a new week, but she’s started it with projectile vomiting! I’m starting to believe that this little one has a milk allergy, since she only throws up milk. She has an appointment set for later in the month.
Cheers to my burnt chocolate chip pancakes and morning spent cleaning carpet… And it isn’t even 9AM yet.
We live in one of the top 5 WORST cities in the US for people with a pollen allergy! Who knew?! [↩]
I recently fell in love with Tropical Smoothie’sPeanut Butter Cup smoothie. At $4.99 for one, it becomes quite expensive1.
Well, enter Google. I began searching for days trying to find the perfect recipe to replicate this smoothie. I ended up at PB Fingers. She had posted a recipe way back in 2011. After trying her recipe, I decided that this was the closest that I was going to get. I spent weeks altering the recipe and I think that I’ve finally got it!
The tip about the water came from the nice lady at the cafe. I was using milk before but the texture wasn’t coming out right. Now I get to enjoy my Peanut Butter Cup smoothies without the expensive price tag3.
Last month, I was so excited when I received a coupon to try Lifeway Kefir. I immediately went on their website to find a store that carried it. After checking three stores on the list, and coming up short… I finally found the product at Publix (which wasn’t even listed on the site).
I tried it as soon as I got home. It was love at first taste! Then came the tartness. The taste of Lifeway Kefir that I could live without. For me, it was definitely a turn off.
I’ve been working hard to finish the bottle of Strawberry Kefir, but it’s hard. I’ve tried it in granola…wasn’t a fan of that. It was really thick and hard to swallow. I find that I like it best straight out of the bottle.
I’m excited to try recipes next. I’ve already started a pinboard with some ideas.
P.S. I received this product complimentary from Influenster for testing purposes.
Last month, I received a VEET EasyWax kit to test and review for VEET & Influenster. I’ve tried at-home wax kits in the past, but none of them worked well for me. No harm in giving this a try, right?
The kit includes a warmer & base, a refill, waxing strips, and finishing wipes. It was only supposed to take thirty minutes to warm up, but I ended up waiting longer than an hour. Even at that time, it did not roll on smoothly. I was left with patches of hair on my legs that I couldn’t go over again.
I’m pretty disappointed in the VEET EasyWax kit. Unfortunately, I can’t find myself recommending it to anyone…unless you get it for free.
P.S. This product was received complimentary from Influenster. All opinions are based off of my experience with this product.
4.28.13 I stayed at home with the babies today because they weren’t feeling well. Their first week at daycare ended with both of them catching colds. My poor Ivy has it the worst, though. I wish there were something that I could do to help her feel better… (other than lots of hugs and kisses!)
